Description

The Spanish Biotech Platform was launched in 2010 with the support from the MICINN, the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Platform goals:

• Enhance the Spanish biotechnology by bringing it to the market in a quite efficient way.
• Provide innovative funding elements to the science-technology-company system.
• Define and address regulatory and environmental barriers to turn them into real opportunities for the Spanish biotech business network.
• Identify global leader markets in which biotechnology brings a decisive element in competitiveness.

Specific goals for the first year:

• Provide the platform with a solid structure and an adequate technological and human infrastructure.
• Make it known to the agents in the science-technology-company-society system through an introductory conference and a communication plan.
• Build critical mass around the platform.
• Boost collaborative projects through technical conferences to foster interaction among the different agents in the biotechnology sector.
